About

Kristin Jarvis is a classically-trained Violinist based in Southwest Florida. She began playing the violin at the age of 2, and when she was 8, began studying with Ming Gao, associate Concertmaster of the Naples Philharmonic. During her early education, she was taught master classes by Stephanie Chase, Glenn Basham, Robert McDuffie, and Max Rabinovitsj, and attended summer sessions at Luzerne Music Center in upstate New York.

Though not initially planning to pursue a degree in music, during the first year of her undergraduate program, Kristin switched majors from Biology (Pre-Med) to Music. During her time at Florida Gulf Coast University’s Bower School of Music, Kristin sat as Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin for both the Bower School of Music Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra, as well as being a member of the Bower Quartet. She graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Art in Music Performance from Florida Gulf Coast University’s Bower School of Music.

Since graduation, Kristin has performed with a number of ensembles - both locally and abroad - including The Naples Players, Gulf Coast Symphony, and TheatreZone; she has taught private students as well as Collier County district students, and she has also worked in arts management, as the Musician Director, Logistics Specialist, and Lead Musician for Curate Entertainment.

In 2024, Kristin gave over 150 performances, and was invited to Italy for the Trentino Music Festival, where she performed under Maestro J. David Jackson of the Metropolitan Opera, and Lochlan Brown of the Dutch Nationale Opera & Ballet.
